No one wants to see their beloved pet suffer with fleas and ticks, so if you want to prevent these pests from attaching your pooch, check out dog flea and tick spray from Zen Pet Supplies. You can use our preventative products to keep those little buggers away, but we also have products to kill fleas and ticks that have invaded your pet and/or home. When dogs spend time outside, as they all should, they’re going to come into contact with fleas and ticks. It’s just a fact of life for our furry friends. If you think your dog has fleas or ticks, you want to get him treated as soon as possible. If you’re not comfortable treating your dog with flea and tick medication, please consult your veterinarian as soon as you notice these pests on your pet. Both can be dangerous if untreated. If you’re comfortable treating your pooch for fleas and ticks, please check out the dog flea and tick spray available now at Zen Pet Supplies.
There are more than 2,200 kinds of fleas out there, so it’s not shocking that over one-third of dogs will eventually be the home for this little bugger and his numerous friends. Most dog owners know that dogs get fleas from other animals, most often. A stray dog or stray cat, or a neighbor’s dog or cat, or urban wildlife (opossums and raccoons) will all come into contact with your dog if he is outside a good bit. As female fleas lay eggs, the eggs fall into your dog’s environment. The eggs develop into adults, and those fleas jump from pet to pet.

Ticks are another pest that dogs and their owners must contend with. Ticks are pretty gross—they’re bloodsuckers that will attack your dog and need to be physically removed by a human. Our K9’s usually get ticks when they’re outside walking through the woods and high grass. Ticks do what is called “questing,” in which they crawl on low brush or grass, generally 18 to 24 inches off the ground and stay there. When an unsuspecting pooch idles by or runs around looking for his ball, he will brush up against the ticks causing them to dislodge and get on our dogs. The myth that ticks climb into trees is not true; instead, they just lie in the brush and grass and wait for a host to jump onto. Don’t let these buggers ruin your dog’s life.
